Which strategy documents are subject to compulsory environmental impact assessment?

Strategy documents subject to compulsory assessment are the documents prepared for the area of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, industry, energy, transport, waste management, water management, telecommunications, tourism, spatial planning or land use, regional development and environment, a strategy document co-financed by the European Union, which is likely to have significant effect on the environment, while forming a framework for the approval of some of proposed activities listed in Annex no. 8, exclusive of strategy documents that determine the use of small areas at a local level. Further, it involves strategy documents, including their changes, which, according to an expert opinion, government authority of nature and landscape protection are likely to have alone or in combination with other documents or activities significant impact on a territory belonging to the European network of protected areas, proposed protected bird area or site of Community importance.

Which strategy documents are subject to screening procedure?

It involves strategy documents not specified for the compulsory assessment, which set the framework for the approval of some of proposed activities listed in Annex no. 8, including its change, a strategy document which defines the use of small areas at a local level and a small change in a strategy document.
